His family had access to all medical examinations, and they referred him to a doctor in Dakar, who indicated that his injuries required surgery within 48 hours.

On Sunday, October 19, he was evacuated to Praia, where he suffered respiratory failure and had to be intubated. Since his arrival in Praia until today, November 5, he is still waiting for a medical team to organize an evacuation to Lisbon. No one informs the family about the next steps or what is being planned.

Now, we ask: If he were a relative of a government official or someone influential, would he still be lying in that hospital bed waiting?

Is Willy, a 24-year-old, destined to remain bedridden indefinitely or even die?

Is he being denied opportunities simply because he is the son of “Filó”? Or is it because he comes from a humble family? Is this a country where some are born into the light of the sun while others are destined for darkness from the start?
