Hi everyone! My name is Ivonne. I am a 39 years old and I am single mama of a three year old. While I was on a break in Vietnam because I thought I was having a burnout, I noticed a lump in my neck, immediately I went to the hospital where they did a biopsy and 10 days later I got the news that it was a type of cancer called Hodgkin lymphoma. Originally from San Francisco and living between the mountains in Colombia and SF, my first initial thought was, I need to go and be with my Mom! which brought me to the The Netherlands, where I underwent more biopsies, and was fully diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin lymphoma. I started chemotherapy treatment January 3. The last chemo was 24th of February. It was the most brutal and hard thing that I have ever had to do in my life and put my body through. Now I need to finish the treatment with radiotherapy. My insurance from the US has been giving me a really hard time and most likely won't cover the chemotherapy treatments which have been already done,( I'm trying to take care of that, still) Now the most urgent matter is to continue radiotherapy ans finish the treatment. I cannot start radiotherapy unless I can pay the Hospital directly. I have already spent the little savings I had. I don't have a job atm. I have to start from zero and I am choosing to do it in this beautiful country. I don't want to go back to the US. Being there for sure was a catalyst for getting cancer in the first place.
I humbly ask for help from the community and whomever can donate to help me finish treatment.
Thank you for reading me.
