This past winter Koen and I had the trip of our lives in South Africa with many outdoor adventures. One of these spectacular moments included a hike up Table Mountain which we shared with our lovely guide Paula. She told us about a project she helps out with in one of the Townships of Cape Town (Lavender Hill).
John (pictured above) and Gail run a mobile library in Lavender Hill. They are amazing people. Not only does it give the children access to books, they also run a program helping kids with their homework, run a soup kitchen and also run a holiday program to keep the kids off the street.
The building is situated in their yard and was shut down by the City as they didn't have the proper plans for the building. They did pay someone for the plans, but this person never submitted it and has disappeared in the meantime. Sadly things like that are not uncommon in Townships like Lavender Hill.
It would be a huge help for the community if they could get the building back up and running for the kids. Any help towards this would be amazing, especially with the Winter months upon them.

For our birthdays this year Koen and I would like to support this cause and help John and Gail in their efforts to help these kids and young adults get the access to books that they want and deserve.
