I am Darya,18 years old, and I just finished High School in The Netherlands.
Because of the environment I was raised in, I have always been aware of my privileged life in the Netherlands. Therefore in my gap year I wanted to help out vulnerable and less privilaged people, and Happy Caravan seemed the right project for me. I will be working for 1 or 2 months at the school in Thermopylae.

Happy Caravan is a school of English & Creativity for children living in refugee camps. The goal of the school is to provide structure, education and fun for the kids. The first school is in the camp of Thermopylae, Greece, with a building onsite. Today, Happy Caravan has 2 schools in Greece and is completely run by an international family of volunteers!
