Dear all,
As you have probably already heard, a disaster happened a few days ago that will not be forgotten anytime soon.
At the border between Tibet and Nepal, a glacier broke off and fell into a high-altitude glacial lake. This triggered a massive avalanche that swept away everything in its path. Several villages have been completely destroyed, and families have been torn apart.
Just five months ago, I was part of this community. That is why this tragedy hits me particularly hard. Honestly, I don't even know where to begin or who I should thank.
During my stay there, I suffered from a serious blood infection and had to undergo surgery locally. The doctor who operated on me refused to accept any money. As a small gesture of gratitude, I gave him an apple after the operation. To this day, I don't even know whether he survived this disaster.
At the moment, I unfortunately have no contact with the people from these villages. However, I personally know many people who have been affected by this tragedy and who will carry its consequences with them for the rest of their lives.
Your support can make a difference.
I will make sure that every contribution reaches the right people directly. I will personally follow up on this and provide proof of where the support goes, including through the headmaster of the Gre primary school.
Thank you so much in advance for your support, compassion and trust. ❤️
