Hi everyone,
First of all, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to our previous fundraiser to bring electricity to a rural school in Zimbabwe!
Thanks to your generosity, we successfully raised enough money to install a small solar panel system, giving the school access to electricity and allowing teachers to provide more learning materials for their students. This was a wonderful achievement, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make it possible.
Now, we’re hoping to take the next step!
As you may have seen in the photos, the school is doing its very best to teach students digital literacy skills. However, due to a lack of computers, keyboards and mice, these lessons are currently taught using pen and paper instead of actual digital devices.
I find this incredibly creative and inspiring. It shows just how dedicated the teachers are to giving their students the best education possible, despite having very limited resources.
But in today’s digital world, I strongly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to experience and learn how to use technology, regardless of where they grow up.
And here’s the exciting news!
I have been fortunate enough to collaborate with Stichting Onderwijs Groep Amnis, who have generously donated 30 Chromebooks to help us make this dream a reality! I am incredibly grateful for their support.
We now have the devices, but there is one final challenge: getting them to Zimbabwe.
Fortunately, I have also connected with Computers2Africa (Books2Africa), who have kindly agreed to help transport the Chromebooks through their charitable shipping network, making the transportation costs considerably more affordable.
However, shipping 30 Chromebooks from Europe to Zimbabwe is still expensive, and unfortunately, I cannot cover these costs on my own.
This is where I am once again asking for your help.
Our goal is to raise enough money to cover the transportation costs and get these Chromebooks into the hands of students who are eager to learn.
Every contribution, big or small, will bring us one step closer to giving these children the opportunity to develop essential digital skills and explore a world of possibilities through technology.
