Ook al is het maar voor één mens

Tijdens onze prachtige vakantie in Vietnam komen we in Hoi An enkele keren Hieu, straatverkoper van boeken tegen. Hij is goedlachs en vriendelijk als alle Vietnamezen. Natuurlijk kopen we een boek. De volgende dag praten we weer en hij vertelt als kind polio te hebben gehad. Daarom loopt hij met krukken. Mochten we ooit terugkomen naar Vietnam of we hem dan misschien willen helpen. Dit blijft enkele dagen in mijn hoofd ronddolen. Wat is ervoor nodig deze nog jonge mens wezenlijk te helpen? Dat blijkt een vervoermiddel te zijn waarmee hij een extra bron van inkomsten kan genereren, én dan hoeft hij niet langer ruim een uur per dag vanuit zijn kamer naar de verkooppunten in de stad te lopen! Het zal niemand verbazen dat Vietnam minder goede of geen voorzieningen voor gehandicapten heeft. Als je deze of andere pech hebt moet je jezelf redden.

Ik ga Hieu hoe dan ook aan helpen. Maar jullie bijdrage wordt zeer op prijs gesteld. Het maakt echt verschil, voor deze mens en dat is altijd de moeite waard.

My name is Hieu, I'm 39 years old and live in Hoi An in Vietnam. I am disabled in both legs due to fever at 2 years old (polio), but the government did not subsidize or help me anything, This is the truth I tell you and everyone. I sell books in the tourist areas in Hoi An but it is not enough money to cover my daily life, but I still have to try. I sell a book for a profit of only one dollar, a day I sell at most 5 books, I have to save to have enough money to pay the rent every month, there are times when it rains a lot, but I still have to sell to make money. Currently there are many people who do not have the need to buy books because all have internet now. 
What I would like to do to earn money is run a Grab taxi service in the morning. But I need a 3-wheel motorcycle and I do not have the money to buy this. It would also help me very much as now I every day I have to walk 35 minutes from the room I rented to the old town, and 35 minutes from the old town to my room, before going to bed my legs and back are very sore. I will be happy with every gift I can get and gladly accept. hanks Hieu
