During Augie's short life and in the weeks following his death, we came into contact with several organisations in the Netherlands that do an amazing job supporting families that experience the loss of a baby or child. As many of our friends and family have asked us if they can make a donation on our behalf, we have set up this page and will split any funds raised between the following organisations:
Make a Memory: This charity provides professional photographers to take family photos when a child is terminally ill. A photographer came to the hospital at less than 24 hours notice (on a Sunday) and took beautiful photos of Augie and us that we will cherish forever.
Stichting Félice: This charity helps families to make the funeral of their baby or child a beautiful event. They provided the beautiful fabric garland spelling Augustine that we displayed during his funeral, and they contributed to the costs of the basket that Augie was in.
Steunpunt Nova: This is the national support centre for parents who lose a baby in the Netherlands. They provide guidance and support to professionals and parents. We have made use of some of their resources already and have signed up for some of the activities that they organise annually around baby loss awareness week.
