7 Dutch tech girls need help to get to the FIRST LEGO League World Championship in Detroit
Do you help these tech girls make it to the stage at the World Championship in Detroit?
The Pretty Smart POWER Girls (prettysmartpowergirls.nl) seven girls between ten and fifteen years of age, will represent the Netherlands at the FIRST ,LEGO League World Championship in Detroit (USA) for the second year in a row.
The FIRST LEGO League is a world-wide science and robotics contest and this girl team has belonged to the Dutch top during the last two years. Last year they received three nominations at the World Championship in Detroit, but just did not manage to win an award. Fortunatly, they get a second chance to make it to the stage this year and they gratefully take on the challenge.
But before they can do so, they need to raise € 25,000 to cover their travel and lodging expenses. The FIRST LEGO League does not cover these costs and the ladies have plenty of talent, but no money.
#FIRSTLikeAGirl
Since last year, the Pretty Smart POWER Girls have been engaged in actitvities to get other girls interested in technology. They do so by being ambassadors for #FIRSTLikeAGirl, a world-wide initiative to put girls involved in technology in the spotlights in order to increase their visibility as positive role models. By participation to the World Championship, they will be able to increase their impact.
Fortunately, a lot of people like to see girls succeed in technology. Are you one of these people? The Pretty Smart POWER Girls certainly need your support
