On Wednesday night the 17th January 2024 our sweet cat Dirk was nowhere to be found. After searching in every roomies room we finally found him curled up and hidden in a bed. We could see that he was in terrible pain and after noticing that he was unable to pee in his litter box we called the animal ambulance, who told us to immediately rush to a vet. At 1 am we took little Dirk to the vet, where he underwent several investigations over the next 2 days. They found a tear in his urethra, which led to a dangerous build up of fluid in his belly, causing him a lot of pain and required a lot of procedures.
After the emergency visit Wednesday night we received a bill of 570€ and another 1865€ for Dirks stay at the animal hospital and the necessary procedures.
All roommates who live with Dirk ask for your help! As students we are currently not in the financial position to cover these unexpected expenses. Any help is extremely appreciated and would make a huge difference to our and most importantly Dirk's situation!
