Importante? es un corto que mira de cerca la dinámica entre una madre y una hija en donde las diferencias culturales acentúan expectativas y desencuentros. Poniendo su propia tristeza a un costado, Daisy siempre ha enfocado su vida en atender las necesidades de su madre argentina, quien, por sus traumas intergeneracionales, no tiene claro dónde depositar sus emociones y cómo relacionarse con su hija adolescente que crece en el centro Amsterdam.
Rocío Weidema es una joven directora que siente la necesidad de contar una historia escasamente representada en el cine contemporáneo: relaciones entre madres e hijas de familias multiculturales, relaciones que generalmente no se encaran con el realismo y la complejidad que la situación merece. A su modo de ver, se cae rápidamente en estereotipos que reducen el tema a un puritanismo infantil de la madre extranjera. Este es un aspecto de la narrativa actual que la directora de Importante? intenta rebelar.
Esta película requiere de un pequeño presupuesto para su realización. Los fondos que recaudemos nos ayudarán a pagar gastos de transporte y alquiler de equipo de filmación. Lo demás lo cubriremos con el talento y el entusiasmo de un equipo internacional formado por argentinos, españoles, holandeses y franceses.

Importante? is a short movie that closely looks at the complex dynamics between a mother and a daughter:
Putting her own sadness aside, Daisy has always focused her life on attending to the needs of her Argentinian mother, who due to her intergenerational traumas, is not clear about where to deposit her emotions and how to relate to her teenage daughter who grows up in downtown Amsterdam.
Rocío Weidema is a young director who feels the need to tell a story that is scarcely represented in contemporary cinema: relationships between mothers and daughters of multicultural families. Relationships that generally are not represented in the realism and complexity the dynamics deserve. In the view of the director, the narrative usually falls into stereotypes that reduce the subject to the childish puritanism of ‘the foreign mother’. This is an aspect of the current narrative we try to change.
This film requires a small budget for its production. The funds we raise will help us pay for transport and the rental of film equipment. We will cover the rest with the talent and enthusiasm of an international team made up of Argentinian, Spanish, Dutch and French people.
