As we speak the forests in the Amazigh regions of Kabylia and Aures are being systematically burned down by its pyromaniac government in Algeria. Not alone have the regions have to deal with the pandemic and forest fires, there is also a severe lack of water and medical attention. Amazigh people are DYING. The forest fires in North Africa are a reoccurring event; every year in the summer the forest in Kabylia are being systematically and purposefully set on fire, this is NO coincidence and the TRUTH must be told. Also the racist Arabophone government of president Tebboune is spreading lies in the media; not a single military has died while “saving” people; the government does not provide any help at all. The only people who are unnecessary dying are the Amazigh, or by Covid-19 or by the fires. Last year we have contacted several European environment organisations and have informed them about the severe situations about the ongoing forest fires in mainland North Africa. Providing help has proved to be almost impossible by these organisations, so we the Amazigh who are living abroad are the only ones who can provide help to our people. At the moment we are trying to get in contact with the National Park of Djurdura to see how we can provide help and how it will arrive there, since Algeria is completely closed off. 

We must not ignore or underestimate the severe aftermath of these events. The aim of these forest fires is destroying Amazigh soil and making it bare. Not only that, also the survival of the indigenous Amazigh people are in danger and we MUST, no, we are OBLIGED to do something about this.
